The P is Upon Us :)

A few random shot from today, Dec 16th, P at 28.5 weeks, 11 more to go! My body is starting to really feel pregnant, mobility is a lot slower than it once was and my hands are permanently numb. But, totally worth it in a few months I know :) Loving our girl so much already :)

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas...

Perhaps because I am starting to resemble the man in red myself, at least in the belly region :) At my last pre-natal appt, I put on a good 5kg in the last month, I guess it had to happen eventually. P and I are back at the grind in grade 2, feeling good so far. She kicks when lots of noise is around or I am talking one on one with a student for an extended period of time. I still think she'll answer to the names Ben and Isaiah(two handfuls in my room that get a lot of my time and attention lately) upon birth!
We're heading home to Manitoba and Ontario from the 21st to the 30th, can't wait to see everyone and for them to see the ever increasing belly! 83 more days until our due date! Friends of mine just welcomed a baby girl this morning, makes me ever the more excited for Lexie P's arrival! Thus, will also bring the end to my ever swollen hands!

Lexie P's latest ultrasound, 26 weeks

Well, here she is again, our baby girl, Ms. Alexis Paige, aka Lexie. After our last 3d ultrsound, the tech invited us back for another session in hopes of getting better pics and dvd. Well, we were able to get a few ok shots, but nothing to write home about. Still, in finding the positives, it was fabulous to see our little girl again, count those fingers and see her cover up her face when the camera was on her just like her dad. A little more than 3 more months to go, back to work on Monday we go! Looking forward to Xmas holidays already, I am going to be HUGE!!

P Doesn't have a PP :-)

Well after four and a half months of wondering about who was growing and kicking inside of me, Chris and I got the opportunity to see the baby in colour yesterday at the 3D ultrasound. What an awesome experience. We were able to bring in a music selection of our choice to accompany the dvd that we were to get of the whole experience. Knowing that our baby loves listening to metal in dad's diesel, we brought in the Metallica cd. Well, within 2 minutes of seeing the baby, we were quickly informed that we were going to the be parents of a feisty little girl!

Within 30 seconds Dad spoke up and requested a music change to the best of Baby Beethoven :) Somehow Metallica didn't go along with a little girl :) One of my favourite parts of the whole experience was watching the array of emotions go across Chris' face from slight disappointment to surprise to smiles to acceptance to happy teary eyes(although he flatly denies this). :-)

A few weeks ago, I had a couple of intense, meaningful dreams that saw me with a daughter and calling her "Lex" and seeing Chris holding a baby girl with an angel behind him. So, it didn't come to a surprise to me. I have been floating on cloud 11 since the moment we found out. This level of happiness and love that I feel, I have never known. I am so excited to see her be born, grow up, learn, love, etc...I told Chris today that I am so grateful that our little girl will have something that I didn't have until I was older, a great dad. He is going to be amazing. I am so happy, I am beaming from ear to ear and will tell anyone who will listen!

The blood pressure has also gone down this week, yay! Looks like I should be returning to work in a few weeks. So, Ms. Alexis Paige Klassen, Lexie, you are one loved little girl and we can't wait to meet you, my beautiful daughter. Here are a few quotes from what friends/family said when they saw your picture:

Return of the Belly - Week 21 and 23

Everyone keeps saying that I am small for 5 months, so I will go with that and be happy with how P is developing. As of my last 4 weeks appointment, I have only gained 1 kg (2.2 lbs), yay! 21 weeks(sweater) and 23 weeks(belly)

Daddy felt you kick today :)

Yay, after a few weeks of me feeling kicks from P, Chris finally got to feel a light kick from the baby! :) Very cool...more special news, this past Monday, Chris asked me to marry him...we're truly a family of 3 and I am loving every moment.

First Kick?

Last night as I was drifting off to sleep, I felt a shot to the left side that I haven't experienced before! First kick perhaps? Could be, so exciting!! The P has been going crazy in there today and seems to get extra excited listening to Metallica and Motley Crue in Dad's big truck! Has to be a boy I say!

Lovin' My Baby So Much Already!

Yesterday, Chris and I finally had our long awaited ultrasound! In true Klassen-Muir form, our stubborn child took it upon him or herself and had fun making sure that we had no chance in determining whether it is a girl or a boy! My favourite moment was when we finally had a point blank front on pose and the little bugger put his/her hand right over its private parts! Love that kid! Dad is still anxious about finding out, I am just relieved and so happy that he/she appears to be healthy and developing on schedule! Love you P!

The Belly EXPOSED....11 wks and 17 wks!(today!)

I shudder to think of flashing my belly anywhere except at a beach, but for the P, its a must :) 11 weeks back in mid August above and 17 weeks today further up top, yes, I see a definite growth, but only 2-3 lbs in weight gain so far, yay!

Yes, I am DEFINITELY showing....15 1/2 weeks

My cousin Jenni and I out last night at the Comedy Cave in Calgary. It's partially the shirt, but baby is definitely there! I am starting to get more and more excited now...5 1/2 months to go, yay!

Daddy's Boy/Girl already I tell ya!

I may be only 15 1/2 weeks along, but this baby already knows his/her daddy! So many times when Chris has been around talking, this is when the P decides to get busy down below causing a ruckus :) Case in point, Chris has been away for 3 days in BC, I was on the phone with him, as soon as I hung up, boom, Baby goes crazy for ten minutes following! Could be complete fluke, but regardless, it makes me smile :)

150 in a 100 Zone...

I had my latest 4 week appointment today and by fluke, Chris came with me. It was such a blessing because we were able to hear the P's heartbeat today for the first time. We seemed to hear it faintly but the doctor wasn't satisfied until he got a deeper beat. The P was rocking the house at 150 beats per minute! I have been crying at the drop of a hat over anything sentimental or cheesy, but proudly, I kept my composure :) 4 more weeks until the big ultrasound and 6 weeks from today is my due date!!

XY292 - Happy 30th Birthday My Love!

I have always had a strong memory of numbers, dates, phone numbers, etc...for the last month or so Chris has been saying how great it would be to have our baby on February 29th(leap year). A few weeks ago, we were at his CMDRA drag races and I happened to notice the license plate on his GSXR1000(see above!) and what does it say....XY292 - the geek in me right away saw the "Boy-29th of February). So, if it rings true, that will be beyond freaky!

In other news....today marks my 12th week, yay! The ultrasound is scheduled for October 5th, only 44 more days until we get to see the P live in action!

Week 11 and Yonder....

Me at birth above, the size of that head still makes me shudder in fear, my poor mother! I look like a real little Indian baby in that pic, mostly due to the bruising that happened when my mom couldn't push out the aforementioned grand cranium. What can I say, I am in big trouble in less than seven months!!
As of yesterday, I am officially eleven weeks pregnant. The big 12 weeks first trimester end comes next Wednesday, which is also Chris' 30th birthday! My tummy which has always been there, has grown in elevation in the last week for sure. Chris finds it cute and funny, I find it annoying that no item of clothing will stay over it! Oh well, its all part of the journey :-) One of my best friends said I was a real cheeseball with this whole blog thing, but I am running with it, any child is a miracle and I can't wait to meet this one!!

A Miracle is Created...

The P...I think you're finally becoming a reality to your daddy and me! We found out about you about a month ago and every day that passes, we're talking more and more about you, whether or not you're a boy or a girl, what your name is going to be, etc...

As of last week, your name is "The P," because I was telling your daddy about the size that you were inside me and said that you were about the size of a pea. Since then, he has been patting my tummy and saying, "Hi P!" You( and me for that matter) are incredibly lucky to have him in our lives.

Every few days, I feel things going on down there, you're making your presence known more and more, as you grow bigger and stronger. This week, we can actually start to call you a 'fetus,' not just an embryo anymore. I am grateful with every day that passes, because that means you're safe inside me.

This weekend, we get to tell your big cousins Emma and Brittany about your arrival in seven months. I can hardly wait, because I know how excited they are going to be and how much they are going to love you. Even Grandpa Arnold is talking about how he's going to be a grandpa again. You are going to be one loved little boy or girl.
